Fulton Friendship House and Helio Health Merger Complete

Syracuse, NY― Two of New York’s nonprofit behavioral health systems-Helio Health and Fulton Friendship House-formally merged as Helio Health. This completes the affiliation process that began June 2022.

With this merger’s completion both organizations have proven that we are stronger together. We have established strong capacities in substance use disorder and mental health services, residential, housing and support services. We will do more as one agency to enhance service quality and develop more seamless access to services.

The combined resources are hard to ignore Inpatient, Outpatient, Residential, and In-community services in the Finger Lakes, Central and Southern, Mohawk Valley and now Capital region- with over 1000 colleagues and over nineteen thousand people served annually.

Kathleen Gaffney-Babb, President and CEO says, “Helio Health is excited to continue our combined efforts with Fulton Friendship House and come together supporting our mission serving our communities. Fulton Friendship House has a longstanding excellent reputation of person-centered service provision in the region.  Helio Health is grateful to partner together in this merger and continue meeting the needs of the community with inclusivity and integrity. “

Duane Miller, Vice President of Capital Region says, “Helio Health is the perfect fit for uniting under a shared value system dedicated to uplifting and empowering underserved populations in our area. The coupling of a local presence and the trusted legacy of Fulton Friendship House with the extensive statewide experience and resources of Helio Health amplifies our impact and will facilitate delivery of critical support to those in need.”

Helio Health’s vision is to transform lives and help shape the future landscape of behavioral health care. We plan to remain vocal advocates for those who are vulnerable, more innovative healers inside our clinics and in the community, and more effective champions for healthy minds, bodies, and souls. A place where hope meets healing.
